A-England Her Rose Adagio

Hi everyone! Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since my last blog post, I feel terrible I haven't shared polishes with you in so long! I have been up to various things - graduated uni, spent 2 months overseas and have just started a new job which I am so excited about as it means more money for polish! :D

I thought I'd start off my first post in a while with one of, if not my favourite polish brands, A England. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Adina and Tristam not once but twice whilst I was in London in June/July and it was wonderful! I was so starstruck, Adina has the most beautiful and creative mind and to be able to finally meet the brains behind the polish was just outstanding! I hadn't painted my nails for a while so the first one I picked up was a beauty I had purchased before I went away and never worn, Her Rose Adagio.

Her Rose Adagio is part of A England's "Ballerina" collection and is described on their website as "Faded roses in a silver prismatic base, as romantic as it is en pointe". This is a beautifully subtle polish, with scattered holographic particles that make it come alive.

Adina never fails to disappoint, with the formula and colour of Her Rose Adagio being simply perfection. I used two coats plus a top coat for this manicure and I actually applied this a day ago so it hasn't budged at all which I am quite surprised about considering what I have put my nails through today at work!

Her Rose Adagio is such an elegant colour, I can't believe I didn't apply it sooner!

Sorry this is just a quick post but I wanted to upload something and get back into the swing of blogging, I have missed it! I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas and New Year and may 2015 bring us hundreds of new polishes to try!!! I know as soon as my next pay goes in I will be making another A England purchase! Have you tried Her Rose Adagio? What is your favourite A England shade?

a-england Princess Sabra Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! So sorry I haven't blogged in so long! I have really missed it and all of you so I couldn't wait any longer to do a new post!

Today I have for you another incredible a-england polish. Adina is the brains behind this brand and she is the most wonderful person! Her creations are just sublime and I can't get enough of them! I have just put in an order for some more polishes today in fact! :D Princess Sabra (or Tristam eyes - Tristam is Adina's gorgeous cat) is part of The Legends Collection and is a beautiful gold/olive toned holographic shade that sparkles in all lights.

Princess Sabra. Look at that colour! The rainbow holo is just stunning. I used two perfect coats for these swatches and added a coat of Essie's Good to Go. If you polish carefully enough then you could probably get away with one coat!

I have been growing my nails (yay!) recently and am so happy they're getting longer! I love the way this polish changes from gold to olive in different lights. Application was flawless, as with all a-england polishes I have used! If you have tried any of Adina's polishes you will know what I am talking about!

So much holo! I was eating breakfast this morning and caught myself looking at my nails :P I can't believe it has taken me so long to wear this again!

All photos taken inside with a flash. The rainbow on my nails is just incredible!

I took a few photos outside but it is miserable, rainy weather here so decided not to show you them haha

This was taken at our back door with a flash so there was a touch more natural light. You can see the colour shift and rainbow holo effect! Sparkles! This polish reminds me of Liquid Luck (Felix Felicis) from the Harry Potter movies :P

Princess Sabra is a glorious nail polish and as always, I recommend all of Adina's creations. If you haven't tried them already then you need to! A-England only ships in the UK however still have a look at their website as Adina has a list of sites that will ship internationally! We can all have a dose of a-england goodness!

I hope you enjoyed this post and have a great day! Look forward to reading your comments :)

Ciate - Kiss Chase

Hello everyone!

I have another Ciate polish to show you today, I am seriously obsessed with this brand! Kiss Chase was a mini polish I received in the Mini Mani Month Advent Calendar and it is a stunning bright pink colour that applies beautifully.

Look! I am not normally a pink polish person however this has definitely changed my mind on that! This is 2 coats of Kiss Chase with a coat of Ciate's Speed Coat Top Coat.

These mini bottles are such a great size! Really gives you a chance to test the polish before buying one of the normal sized paint pots! I have to say, there are 3 colours that I definitely have my eye on! A trip to the cosmetics shop that stock Ciate is in order I think!

So nice and bright! The formula of all the Ciate polishes I have tried so far has been just perfect. 2 even coats and you get a gorgeous bubblegum pink colour!

Outdoor shot. Yes, I went outside in 43 degree heat just to take a photo of my nails for you haha. The colour of the bottle in this photo is probably a more accurate representation of the actual polish. It looks more orange in this lighting but its definitely pink! I loved the top coat, the shine it gives is amazing!

I am so excited I have discovered Ciate polishes, they are all I am wearing on my nails at the moment! Have you tried any Ciate Paint Pots?

Enjoy the weekend everyone! Em x

Ciate "Pillow Fight" and Caviar Manicure!

Morning all! How are you? I have had a great weekend, I finally tried out the Ciate Caviar Manicure! I had been dying to do this and when I got some caviar beads in my Ciate Mini Mani Month Calendar, I couldn't resist! I only did an accent nail, just to get the feel of it but wow! I love it! For my other nails I used Pillow Fight. A gorgeous grey toned polish with purple undertones, it is amazing!

This is Ciate "Pillow Fight" with Caviar beads in "Frost Yourself" I am so pleased with this mani! Pillow Fight was an absolute dream to apply, this is two coats with a top coat. There was some slight balding on my pinky finger just towards the cuticle but that could be fixed with technique I think. The mini bottles are so handy, the brushes are a great size to cover the nail in 3 easy strokes and the formula is fantastic!

You can see that Pillow Fight is definitely not just a grey polish! When I first saw it I thought hmm not something I would usually wear...its grey...but once I put it on, I was more than happy with it! I don't have anything like it in my growing collection so I will definitely be reaching for it a lot more in the future!

The caviar beads from Ciate were so easy to apply! All you do is paint your nails like normal but when you apply the second/third coat of polish you sprinkle the caviar beads onto the wet polish, push them down and let it dry! Simple! It leaves such an amazing effect! I didn't put a top coat over them as it can cause the beads to discolour which I didn't want! The Frost Yourself caviar beads are Christmassy but I think they can be used all year round! There is silver, dark blue, light blue and some clear beads that have a slight pink tinge to them in this creation!

I took this photo this morning, 3 days after applying the polish and beads. As you can see with the polish I have slight tip wear but nothing too serious! The caviar beads have lasted longer than I expected too! I have had showers, done dishes and washed my hands multiple times and there are still some beads left!

I am ecstatic with the results of my first caviar manicure! Not only is Pillow Fight just a stunning colour with incredible application but the caviar beads add an amazing touch to the manicure! I will definitely be trying another caviar mani in the future, I may even do one with all my nails covered, just for you guys! :)

Have you tried any Ciate polishes before? Or attempted a Caviar manicure? Let me know!

Have a wonderful day guys, Em x

Zoya "Adina" Swatches and Review

Hi all! A new post for you today. I met a girl on a nail group on Facebook who was looking to do a swap with someone so of course I volunteered! She sent me a range of polishes that are HTF here and the one I am showing you today is one I was extremely excited about! Zoya Adina is a gorgeous duo chrome purple that shifts to green and gold and so many colours in different lights! It was so hard to capture on camera but I did my best! Onto the swatches!

I am incredibly impressed with the colour of this polish. Adina is part of the Zoya Spring 2010 Collection and it is just amazing. You can see the different colours in this polish. Green and purple are the main ones and there is a slight shimmer to it.

Look at this colour! I can safely say I do not have a polish like this in my collection, it is just awesome! The formula was great, however, the brush was tiny! I have small nails and like small brushes but this was ridiculous! I found it hard to spread the polish evenly and there are some tiny brush strokes visible but nothing too bad.

I tried to get a bottle shot to show you the shift in colours and this works quite well. Just incredible! You can really see the green and even gold in this photo.

This was 2 coats of Adina with no top coat however if you did the first coat thick enough it was opaque in 1 coat! I can't stop looking at my nails, so glad I finally got my hands on a Zoya!

I was really happy with this polish, if the brush was a little bigger it would have been a 10/10 for me. Oh how keen I am to try more polishes from Zoya now!!!

Have you tried Adina? What do you think?

Ciate "Members Only" and "Locket"

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I am so excited to get back into blogging now I have officially finished uni and have my degree!
I have a great post for you today! Many of you would have heard about the Ciate Mini Advent Calendar...if not, it is an advent calendar that contains mini bottles of nail polish! Every girls dream! You get 23 mini bottles, including a top and base coat and their famous caviar to complete your own caviar mani. There is also a full size bottle in there as a surprise! I had to treat myself to this calendar as I had heard of Ciate but never tried their polishes so what better way to do that than with a selection of their mini bottles! I had such a hard time deciding what to wear first so here is what I chose!

This is Members Only with an accent nail of Locket. I was in the mood for a nude mani and this was perfect! I had to add the extra sparkle! Members Only is a gorgeous pale peach like colour with lots of hidden shimmer. This was so hard to capture in the photos but looking in bright light I could see pink shimmer in there! It is a perfect polish to apply, 2 coats and it was opaque and ready to go, dry time was extremely quick too!

Locket is a polish with a light silver shimmer base packed with various sizes of hexagonal glitter. This was also 2 coats and it is perfectly opaque! I was so so impressed with the application of these polishes, went onto the nail like butter and was self levelling. After using these colours, it is safe to say that this is one of my new favourite nail polish brands! You can see the orange shimmer flakes on my pinky best in this photo!

Outdoor shot for you! Excuse the very short nails, had to cut them for work but they will grow!

I am so happy I invested in one of the Ciate Advent Calendars (even if I bought it on the 23rd of December :P) The range of colours is just incredible and I can't wait to show you more of their delicious polishes! Ciate is a British nail polish brand, created by the wonderful Charlotte Knight. If you haven't already, you should have a look at their website

I hope you enjoyed this post. Have you tried any Ciate polishes? Did you buy their Advent Calendar?

Inglot O2M Breathable Nail Polish #636

Hi everyone! Wow, I am so sorry it has been a long time since my last blog post! I have been extremely busy with finishing uni and exams and all that jazz so haven't had the time but with a day off work today I thought it's about time I blogged again!

Today I have for you another breathable nail polish by Inglot. This one is 636, a gorgeous purple shade packed with subtle gold shimmer, I can even see some red in there too! I love the bottle design of these polishes and they come in their own little box which is great too. This colour reminds me of a lighter version of Butter London's Pitter Patter which I absolutely love. The formula of this polish was quite good although I found it slightly more runny than most polishes I have used. I have two coats of polish on, no top coat to show you the full effect.

Indoor shot with flash. You can see this is a nice deep purple but its not too dark. The shimmer in this is amazing, it really shows up well in the light. Excuse my non painted thumb haha :P

I went outside to take a shot however it is cloudy today so not the best lighting. You can see how shiny it is though, this is without a top coat!

Really like this colour, it didn't stain as much as I thought when I removed it either. I think this is a nice elegant colour and am very happy with it. I remember this one was in the 50% off bin and the girl at the Inglot stall said it was one of her favourites so I had to add it to my basket, glad I did too!

Sorry this is such a short post guys but I will get back into the swing of things and have more posts for you soon :) Hope you are all well and are looking forward to Christmas! I know I am!
